Safe Haven Veterinary Hospital is AAHA-accredited, privately owned, small animal hospital with an outstanding reputation and a commitment for top-notch compassionate care. We have been serving pets in Palm Coast for 25 years, 16 of them in our spacious, well-kept facility where we can support 4+ full-time veterinarians. Safe Haven is growing and has ample opportunities to add veterinarians to our rock star team. We stock modern diagnostic and therapeutic conveniences including digital standard and dental radiography, telemedicine capable ultrasound and electrocardiography, isofluorane anesthesia, in house and complete outside laboratory service, Class IV therapeutic laser, and more. The Safe Haven staff is educated, trained and experienced, giving you the best possible support so that you can practice at your best.

We are looking for a compassionate, experienced, self-motivated, and knowledgeable Veterinary Assistant to add to our seasoned team!

Qualifications:

Candidates must minimally have 1 year of experience, with a high degree of organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Primary duties will include:

  • Assisting Technicians and Doctors.
  • Restocking supplies.
  • Professionally communicating with clients.
  • Monitoring patients post-surgery.
  • Restraining patients.
  • Venipuncture.
  • Help with emergency first aid.
  • Administer medication and immunizations.
  • Collect blood, urine, and tissue samples for lab tests.
  • Functional knowledge of Avimark software is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 5 years of veterinary reception experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Avimark is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answering multi-line phones.
  • Checking clients and patients in.
  • Patient chart creation and management.
  • Client care.
  • Liaison between the clinical staff and clients.
  • Selling food, medications, and other products.
  • Processing client charges and payments.
  • Obtaining patient medical history.
